True Blood Spoilers and Info
« Thread Started on Oct 28, 2005, 5:42pm »

Last updated 7/3/2008. New spoilers and/or information are marked NEW.

Until the episodes actually air, please consider these "potential" spoilers only. In other words, I cannot guarantee that what is described in the spoilers will actually occur on the show. If a spoiler on this page has been found by someone else, I have credited them below.

If you want to quote elsewhere a few spoilers you read here, I won't mind, but please mention my site as being where you got them (http://www.deadwoodstage.proboards34.com). Do not copy and paste entire spoiler threads word-for-word elsewhere, unless you have specifically asked me first. Thanks!

(One more thing regarding spoilers posted here for True Blood: I have read all of the books that this show is based on. So, sometimes I may refer to events or characters from the books that either haven't appeared yet on the show, or were different on the show than in the books, etc. The show is based on the 'Southern Vampire' books by Charlaine Harris, but there will be differences. I'm glad, because then people who have read the books will still have surprises to look forward to :)

After watching the leaked pilot episode, my main concern regarding the series is that Eric, who I think is the most interesting/exciting/sexy of the vampires in the books, doesn't appear until the 4th episode, and he's only a recurring character, at least in the first season. In the books, Bill is written as being a bit reserved and sullen, and I'm a little worried about him being perceived by viewers (mainly those who haven't read the 'Southern Vampire' books) as too dull and broody in the show, and that those 'new' viewers may not stick around until the 4th episode and the introduction of Eric (and also the vampire Pam, who has a great sarcastic sense of humor in the books).<-- Oh, by the way, any purple-colored text like this is basically my own comments and speculation.)

?10/28/2005 - "Six Feet Under" creator Alan Ball has signed a 2-year development deal with HBO to make a show based on the "Southern Vampire" book series. Here are some excerpts from a Hollywood Reporter article:
?LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter, Oct 27, 2005, by Andrew Wallenstein) - HBO has dug up a new deal with "Six Feet Under" creator Alan Ball, but this time he's switching from the dead to the undead.

The first project covered under the two-year development deal Ball signed with the premium cable channel will be based on the "Southern Vampire" book series.

Written by Charlaine Harris, the series chronicles the intermingling world of humans and monsters in contemporary rural Louisiana, particularly vampires, thanks to a synthetic blood formula that allows them to roam far from their coffins.

?8/26/2006 - True Blood takes its name from the brand of synthetic blood that the Japanese have patented in Harris뭩 novels. Vampires can actually drink it, Ball explains, thereby bypassing their need for human blood. Having shed one of their more antisocial habits, the vampires 밺ecide to make their presence known, hire PR firms, and sort of . . . come out of the coffin. A lot of churches are horribly against them, but they are very wealthy, and contribute a lot of money to Republican politicians so that they can legitimise their holdings.?(source: entertainment.timesonline.co.uk)

?2/3/2007 - Ryan Kwanten ("Flicka," "Summerland") is tipped to be the favourite for a leading role in Alan Ball's quirky HBO barmaid meets vampire drama "True Blood." (source: darkhorizons.com); UPDATED 2/14/2007: It is now confirmed that Ryan Kwanten will be playing Jason Stackhouse on Alan Balls new series True Blood for HBO. HBO today approved him for the cast and he has accepted their offer. (source: darkhorizons.com):

?8/30/2007 - There's a new casting notice for the pilot episode, and it's for the part of Tara (which had previously been confirmed by several sources as being played by Brook Kerr). UPDATED 9/8/2007: At charlaineharris.master.com, dallasmc posted that at a Q&A on September 4, Charlaine mentioned that a character is being recast, but she didn't say which one, and that filming is supposed to start again on October 8; UPDATED 12/29/2007: The part of Tara has been recast, and will now be played by Rutina Wesley. (source: casting notice and variety.com); UPDATED 2/18/2008: Charlaine Harris has confirmed on her message board that Rutina Wesley will play Tara:

?5/28/2008 - [John] Billingsley [(Dr. Phlox on "Enterprise")] recently [(last fall)] shot his first scenes for what will likely be a recurring role on ...TRUE BLOOD.

밮ampires have, in effect, come out and demanded their full civil rights,?says Billingsley, 밪o humans are now beginning to have to accept the fact that there are vampires among us, and we must live with them. It뭩 a recurring role, I believe. I뭢 the parish coroner. My partner in crime in this episode was William Sanderson from DEADWOOD. He뭩 a great guy, really charming. And the lead is Anna Paquin.?

밒f you뭨e the town coroner, and the show is about vampires killing people뾵ith people dying right, left and center뾋 figure I뭠l get to do a few more of those.?(source: starlog.com):

?5/28/2008 - Graham Shiels will play Liam in several episodes. "I just shot the seventh episode (my fourth) of Alan Ball's new series for HBO, "True Blood." I am in the first three episodes, and then this one. I play Liam: a tattooed, sex-addicted, blood-thirsty vampire." (source: Graham Shiels' MySpace page):

?5/28/2008 - Stephen Root has signed on for a three-episode arc in HBO's upcoming drama "True Blood." He will play Eddie Gautier, a lonely vampire smitten with Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis). (source: poster redksb1 at the Charlaine Harris message board, refering to an article at hollywoodreporter.com):

?5/28/2008 - Title sequence images (source: poster francescotm linked to them in a post at the imdb.com message board; from tobequitefrank.com) UPDATED 7/5/2008: This is actually an old title concept and the one that will be used for the series is different (source: poster francescotm at theimdb.com message board):

?6/26/2008 - Mariana Klaveno plays a vampire in the series, and according an interview with her at hackslashdead.com, it has the possibility of being a recurring role. <--(I'm assuming that that means she'll have a recurring role if there's a season 2.):

?6/29/2008 - Here are before and after pictures of a Shreveport house that was burned for scenes in 'True Blood.' If these scenes follow the first book, then the house was the one Bill's vampire 'friends' used (in the book, they were Malcolm, Diane, and Liam) for their nest. (source: shreveporttimes.com <--(I'm not sure which episode this occurs in - perhaps the eighth episode, '4th Man in the Fire'):

    여러조각 있는 캡춰는 무엇이죠? 처음보는건데...ㅠ0ㅠ

드라마 처음 시작했을 때 초기 타이틀 시퀀스입니다.
    파일럿 프로그램인가 그랬을 거에요.
그거...아시나요? 파일럿 땐 1회때 화면이랑 수키 친구로 나오는 배우도 달랐고 대사도 달랐고, 특히 샘이 수키 어깨 잡는 그 장면이 완전 다르게 표현되었었습니다.
